Exit of a Woman of Substance: Dame Priscilla Chinyere Opara Nee EKE

The impact of someone we care about never truly fades away, but instead continues to affect the lives of all those they’ve touched.

 

Dame Priscilla Chinyere Opara (formerly known as Eke) hailed from Mbieri in Imo State, located in the eastern region of Nigeria. She was the wife of the late Chief Godson Opara, Ugo II of Obazu, and is survived by six children – three sons and daughters – all of whom are educated and accomplished.

Before she passed away, Dame Priscilla Chinyere Opara NEE EKE was an exceptional woman who lived a life of excellence and was a great example of a Christian. She was affectionately called Mama P, and she served as a principal of several renowned girls’ secondary schools in Imo State, Nigeria, such as Oguta Girls and Amumara Girls, where the talented Onyeka Onwenu is among the alumnae.

Many individuals who had the privilege of knowing Dame Priscilla Chinyere Opara have been positively impacted by her life. She belonged to numerous associations and Christian organizations such as Scripture Union, and many of them have pleasant and admirable memories of her. Dame Priscilla was renowned for her cheerful disposition, acts of kindness, and contributions to humanity. She lived for 86 years on this earth, and during this time, she was known for her willingness to reconcile with God and others.

Dame Priscilla Chinyere Opara will be laid to rest on September 9, 2022, in her hometown, Obazu Mbieri, Imo State, Nigeria.

 

Funeral Service: Holds at HOLY TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, Obazu Mbieri, Imo State.

 

Internment follows immediately at the Opara’s compound.
