Nigeria Appoints 17 New Chargé D’affaires, Consuls General

The Nigerian government has officially announced the appointment of five new Chargé D’Affaires and twelve Consuls General to various global diplomatic posts, Excel Magazine International can report.

This step is seen as a significant move to enhance Nigeria’s representation abroad.

Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has tasked the new diplomats to exemplify Nigeria’s values and interests in their respective missions.

The announcement, made through Alkasim Abdulkadir, Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy, reiterated the key role these appointments play in furthering the economic agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In his directive, Ambassador Tuggar emphasized the importance of professionalism and urged the appointees to focus solely on diplomatic engagements rather than political activities, aligning with the broader goals of national development.

Speaking on behalf of his peers, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, the newly appointed Consul General in New York, affirmed their collective commitment to promoting the nation’s diplomatic ethos and attracting investments.
