Poignant Moment as Arsenal Fans Pay Tribute to Killed British-Nigerian Teenager

Arsenal fans paid tribute to Daniel Anjorin, a British-Nigerian teenager killed by a sword-wielding assailant in London.

During Arsenal’s match against Bournemouth, a poignant moment occurred in the 14th minute as the game paused, and fans applauded in honor of the 14-year-old, whose favorite player was Bukayo Saka.

Anjorin’s image was displayed on the scoreboard, and banners with “R.I.P Daniel” adorned Emirates Stadium.

Excel Magazine International observes that TV presenter, Piers Morgan and other Arsenal supporters also paid their respects.

Anjorin’s family, through a statement via the Metropolitan Police, expressed devastation and gratitude for the community’s support while requesting privacy.

“We as a family are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Daniel. It is difficult for us at this time to process what has happened to him and that he will never come home. Daniel had left the house for school and then he was gone,” the statement reads in part.

“We would also like to thank the local community for all of their support during this most difficult time. We ask that the media please respect our privacy and refrain from contacting us or our family.”

A fundraiser for the family amassed over £120,000 in three days.

Anjorin’s tragic demise on his way to school in Hainault led to the arrest of Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, a Spanish-Brazilian national, who was remanded in custody.
