Regina Daniels Under Fire for Condemning Violence at #Endbadgovernance Protests

Nigerian actress, Regina Daniels has come under fire from the public after speaking out against violence during the ongoing #Endbadgovernance protests.

In a video posted on Instagram on August 1, 2024 and seen by Excel Magazine International, Daniels urged protesters to remain peaceful, sparking widespread criticism.

Daniels began by acknowledging the suffering of the masses and the need for a better life, but quickly shifted her focus to condemning acts of violence on the protest grounds.

“Once violence gets involved, it defeats the whole purpose of the protests. I urge everyone to try and make this protest as peaceful as possible,” she said.

However, her message was met with disapproval from many Nigerians, who accused her of being out of touch with the reality of the situation.

Critics demanded that she take down the video, with some accusing her of trying to undermine the protests.

Daniels’ comments have sparked a heated debate about the role of celebrities in speaking out on social issues.

While some have praised her for promoting peace, others have criticized her for failing to acknowledge the root causes of the violence.
